Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics’s cover highlights LPMC

The article "Non-isothermal Crystallization Kinetics of Biobased Poly(ethylene 2,5-furandicarboxylate) Synthesized via the Direct Esterification Process", written by Amandine Codou, Nathanael Guigo et Nicolas Sbirrazzuoli (LPMC) in collaboration with Jesper van Berkel et Ed de Jong (Avantium Chemicals B.V., Netherlands), is honored in the last Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics issue by illustrating the cover.

Abstract of the article :

Non-isothermal crystallization kinetics of a new prospective biobased polymer, poly(ethylene 2,5-furandicarboxylate) (PEF), whose chemical structure is analogous to poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET), is undertaken for both melt and glass crystallization by combining isoconversional analysis, the Hoffman–Lauritzen theory, and the Ozawa analysis. Change in the crystallization regimes is highlighted. The temperature at maximum crystallization rate is estimated using measurements and simulations.
