Tools for device independent quantum key distribution.

Most of the quantum cryptography procols are not provably secure. Device independent quantum key distribution (DIQKD) protocols require loophole free violation of Bell inequalities in order to allow the generation of unconditionally secure shared keys. Closing the dection loophole with optical systems at a distance is challenging due to losses (coupling and transmission in optical fibers) and limited detection efficiency. I will present a way to improve the source coupling efficiency, and to reduce the effect of losses suffered by the photons during propagation.
